Dr Fabrizio Vetica

Fabrizio Vetica was born in 1991 in Rome, Italy. He studied Chemistry at “Sapienza” University of Rome, were he achieved his Master Degree in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry cum laude in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. M. Antonietta Loreto (Sapienza University of Rome) and Dr Tecla Gasperi (University of Roma Tre). During his master he worked on organometallic and asymmetric organocatalytic domino reactions and the total synthesis of antitumoral agents. Afterwards, he moved to Germany and obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dieter Enders at RWTH Aachen University. His doctoral work focused on stereoselective organocatalytic multi-steps one-pot/domino reactions for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. After a period as Labteam leader - Research Scientist at BASF SE (Ludwigshafen am Rhein) where he supervised a research team working on heterogeneous catalysis in organic synthesis on lab scale and trouble shooting for production scale, he moved back to Italy where he is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lipinutragen srl, Institute of Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) of the National Research Council (CNR), working on sulfur radical chemistry in biomimetic conditions and identifications of biomarkers.
